How to Deploy Your Flockx AI Agent to Telegram

Connecting your AI agent to Telegram allows it to interact with users directly in their favorite messaging app. Follow these simple instructions to get your agent up and running on Telegram in just a few minutes.

Connect your Agent to Telegram

Step 1: Create a Telegram Bot

  1. Open the Telegram app on your device
  2. In the search bar, type “BotFather” (this is Telegram’s official bot creation tool)
  3. Tap on the BotFather account (it has a verified checkmark)
  4. Start a chat with BotFather by clicking “Start”
  5. Type /newbot to begin the creation process
  6. BotFather will ask you to name your bot:
    • First, provide a display name (can be anything you want)
    • Then, create a username that MUST end with “bot” (e.g., “FlockxHelperBot”)
  7. Once complete, BotFather will provide a token (a long string of characters)
  8. Copy this token—you’ll need it for the next step

Important: Keep your token secure as it gives access to control your bot

Step 2: Connect Your Bot to Your Flockx Agent

  1. Go to agents.flockx.io and log into your account
  2. Navigate to your Agent Management dashboard
  3. Find your agent and click on its settings
  4. Scroll to the “Integrations” section
  5. Locate the Telegram integration area
  6. Click on “Add Token”
  7. Paste the token you received from BotFather
  8. Enter your bot’s name in the field provided
  9. Click “Save” or “Connect”

Step 3: Deploy Your Bot in Telegram

  1. Your Flockx AI agent is now connected to Telegram!
  2. You can add your bot to:
    • Individual chats: Search for your bot by its username and start a conversation
    • Group chats: Add your bot to any Telegram group

Step 4: Configure Group Settings (If Applicable)

When adding your bot to a Telegram group:

  1. After adding the bot to your group, tap on the group name
  2. Go to “Administrators” or “Group Settings”
  3. Add your bot as an administrator
  4. Give it the necessary permissions to read messages and send responses

Your Flockx AI agent is now ready to interact with users directly in Telegram! It will leverage all the knowledge and personality you’ve defined in your agent settings.

Troubleshooting Tips

  • If your bot isn’t responding, verify it has admin privileges in the group
  • Ensure your Flockx account is active and your agent is properly configured
