Bringing Your AI Agent to Telegram: Setup and Activation

Connecting your AI agent to Telegram allows it to interact with users directly in their favorite messaging app. Follow these simple instructions to get your agent up and running on Telegram in just a few minutes.

Step 1: Create a Telegram Bot

1. Open the Telegram app on your device.
2. In the search bar, type “BotFather” and select the verified BotFather account.
3. Tap Start to begin a chat.
4. Type /newbot to initiate the bot creation process.
5. Follow the prompts:
   • First, provide a display name for your bot.
   • Then, choose a username that ends in bot (e.g., FlockxHelperBot).
6. BotFather will generate an API token (a long string of characters).
7. Copy this token—you’ll need it to connect your bot in the next step.

⚠️ Important: Keep your token private. It grants full access to control your bot.

Step 2: Connect Your Bot to Your Flockx Agent

1. Log in at flockx.io.
2. Go to your Agent Management dashboard.
3. Find your agent and click Settings.
4. Scroll to the Integrations section.
5. Locate Telegram Integration.
6. Click Add Token.
7. Paste the token you received from BotFather.
8. Enter your bot’s display name.
9. Click Save or Connect to finalize the link.

Step 3: Deploy Your Bot in Telegram

Your bot is now live! You can:

• Search for your bot by its username in Telegram and start a chat.
• Add your bot to group chats.

Step 4: Configure Group Settings (If Applicable)

To allow your bot to interact in groups:

1. After adding the bot to your group, tap on the group name.
2. Go to Administrators or Group Settings.
3. Add your bot as an administrator.
4. Grant permissions to read messages and send responses.

Troubleshooting Tips

• Bot not responding in group? Ensure it has admin privileges and proper permissions.
• Token error? Double-check you’ve pasted the correct token from BotFather.
• No response from bot at all? Verify that your Flockx agent is active and integrations are enabled.
