Connecting Your AI Agent to Discord : Real-Time Interactions
Connecting your AI agent to Discord allows it to interact with users directly in your Discord server. Follow these simple instructions to get your agent live and chatting in just a few minutes.
Connect your Agent to Discord
Step 1: Enable Developer Mode in Discord
Open Discord and click on the gear icon to go to User Settings.
Scroll down to Advanced.
Toggle on Developer Mode.
This setting is required to copy your server’s ID later in the process.
Step 2: Copy Your Discord Server ID
Go to the Discord server where you want to deploy your agent.
Right-click on the server name in the left-hand sidebar.
Click Copy Server ID.
You’ll paste this ID into your Flockx agent settings in the next step.
Find the agent you want to connect and click Settings.
Scroll to the Discord Integration section and click Configure.
Click Add Guild.
Paste the Server ID into the top field.
Type your server’s name into the bottom field.
Click Add.
Step 4: Authorize Your Agent in Discord
You’ll be redirected to Discord’s authorization screen.
Choose the server you want to connect your agent to.
Approve the necessary permissions (make sure Admin is selected).
Once authorized, you’ll receive a success message.
Return to your Discord server—you should now see your Flockx AI Agent online and ready to go.
Step 5: Test and Interact
Your agent is now live in your server. Try sending it a message in any public channel where it has access. You can do this by using the ’@’ symbol, then select ‘flockxserver’. The agent will respond within a thread based on its configured knowledge and behavior in your Flockx settings.
Troubleshooting Tips
Agent not appearing? Make sure Developer Mode was enabled and the Server ID is correct.
Agent not responding? Double-check that the bot has the right permissions and access to read/send messages in the channel.
Wrong server listed? Ensure you’re logged into the correct Discord account when authorizing.
